Since we’ve been in San Francisco, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Brett MacFadden (pictured above: right) of Macfadden & Thorpe. Brett’s work with design partner Scott Thorpe spans a wonderful array of styles, is quite thoughtful and always striking. Their recent installation for the 25th International Brno Biennial got me thinking: “Hey I should do a post on these dudes.” Enjoy!
Here’s some shots from Friday’s Lab Partners show at Super7. We had a great time hanging with the East Bay crew, taking in all of Ryan and Sarah’s amazing illustrations. Be sure to stop by the show and pick up some prints!
This past Friday designer/typographers Jessica Hische & Erik Marinović hosted a gathering at their new shared studio known as Titlecase. Nestled in the Mission District, Titlecase is a gorgeous space thoughtfully crafted with custom desks, matching bookshelves, lots of warm lighting and inspiration for days! Cheers to the two of them on their new endeavor.
With the holiday’s aside and our move to San Francisco complete, it’s time to get back to blog business. Just before Thanksgiving, David Huyck of Cloudy Co. came through Minneapolis to share the entire collection of prints in a gallery show at Pink Hobo. It was great to catch up with David, see all the Cloudy Co works together in one place and share a few PBRs with some friends we hadn’t seen for quite a while.
We all know 2012 has a chance to be “quite the year.” In my mind it was the beginning of the end when the John Cusack movie arrived. If you haven’t seen it, watch it, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Zombies, floods, polar axis shifting–it’s all cause for a great new calendar by our friend Joe Anderson. Check it out and order one here… before it’s too late (wink).
