The best part about moving to a new place is meeting fun, nice and talent new people—and Heather Diane Hardison meets all the criteria. She has a new show up at the Curiosity Shoppe in San Francisco entitled, Illustrated Bites. It’s a show that brings together her two great loves—Home Cooked and Hand Painted. If her style looks a bit familiar, it should. She is one of the sign painters at New Bohemia Signs, a shop full of fabulous artists.
The show runs through May 25th, so if you’re in the area be sure to stop by. You can also check out Heather’s blog by the same name, which features illustrated recipes. I’m getting hungry just looking at it.
One of the best things about life in Brooklyn is the backyard BBQ. A handful of our friends have charming garden spaces behind their buildings — perfect places to gather with friends on a summer night.
Our friends Jason Walzer and Andrea Floren have been hosting an annual pulled-pork BBQ for the past two years. Inspired by their trip through the Southern United States, the menu’s main dish is an amazing combo of slow-cooked pork, homemade BBQ sauce and cole slaw, all nestled into a warm bun. Jason’s newfound love for home brew provides the perfect bevy to wash it all down … delicious. I feel wonderfully full just thinking about it.
