Remembering Doyald Young
Since the passing of typographer and designer Doyald Young this past February, I’ve been planning a post commemorating his inspiring work. Wanting to space it out from all the wonderful remembrances, I just wasn’t sure where to fit it in. Enter Josh Higgins, who recently contacted us to share a print he had been working on with Doyald as a gift for a friend. After Doyald’s passing designer Jessica Hische stepped in—helping to give it legs and turn it into something greater. The poster above is for sale on Josh’s Etsy store raising money for a type scholarship in Doyald Young’s name.

Incredible talent/skill/creativity. That guy was amazing. He helped teach a quick Summer session class at North Texas a year or so before I got into design. I was very dissapointed I wasn’t more aware at the time and missed out on that class. Rest in Peace Doyald.
