Erik Marinovich
With all the inspiration out there today, it’s not always easy to keep track of who’s doing what. As it turns out, I have been favoring the work of Erik Marinovich for quite some time. Erik is one of those amazing designers who flows out a steady stream of awesomeness. I say “flow” because he makes it look so easy. Beyond his skills as a designer, illustrator and typographer, Erik is a remarkably nice and genuine guy. We had the pleasure of hanging out with him over beers at The Lone Palm in the Mission.
I got a rush of excitement as I went through Erik’s TheBigAnimals.com site, as well as his Friends of Type archives—it was a whole series of consecutive “I know that piece” moments. Needless to say, I can’t wait to see what’s next for this San Francisco-based designer.
