DDC vs. Austin

During our last week in Austin we got to see the wonderfully talented Aaron Draplin speak. It’s a pretty cool story actually—a testament to the power of the internet. The Creative Workers Union launched a kickstarter project to get DDC to Austin. No surprise that they exceeded their financial goal and so it was on—Draplin would be messin’ with Texas come April 7, 2011. All those who kicked-in were admitted free of charge and received some sweet swag. As for everyone else, it was a $10 at the door.
It was a gorgeous spring night in Austin. The event was hosted at the LewisCarnegie design studio who had set-up a great space inside for the talk as well as a backyard bash with DDC goods and plenty of free beer. Aaron was inspiring—tellin’ ya like it is, showing off some great work and some funny ass stories to boot.

Why is that dude’s cowboy hat so small?

Wondering how much the Draplin vs. Austin tees go for on the design black market.

Hi Chrissy, thank you for the interest and sorry about the delay! They were only made for volunteers, but let me see what I can dig up ; )
