Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty

While my parents were in town recently, we were lucky enough to get in to the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It was seriously stunning—like walking through a fairy tale, or sometimes, a nightmare.

One of our favorite pieces was Dress No. 13, which was spray-painted by two robots during one of McQueen’s runways shows. I just love the way this work crosses over between runway show, art installation and performance art. It’s bold and conceptual, and the process was as interesting to watch as the finished piece.

Although the show is no longer up, a lot of the work is online. I highly recommend checking it out.
